Chopin and Shostakovich are central to Yulianna Avdeeva‘s background. Rised to international fame by winning the 2010 Chopin Competition—the first woman to do it since Martha Argerich in 1965— for her Lingotto Musica debut on Friday, February 5, Avdeeva will perform a selection of Shostakovich’s 24 Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87, which she recorded for Pentatone in 2025. The second half of the program features Chopin’s 12 Études, Op. 25.
