Making their debut at the Auditorium Giovanni Agnelli on Thursday, March 18th, the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and his Music Director Krzysztof Urbański open the program with Grażyna Bacewicz’s Scherzo – in an orchestral transcription by Urbański himself – and Elgar’s Cello Concerto, a deeply meditative and melancholic masterpiece, performed by acclaimed cellist Kian Soltani, also making his Lingotto Musica debut. The evening closes with one of the most beloved works of the symphonic repertoire, Symphony No. 9, “From the New World”, by Dvořák.
