Few pianists share as deep and exclusive a bond with Bach as Angela Hewitt. A specialist celebrated since her 1985 victory at the Toronto International Bach Competition, Hewitt recently completed the monumental Bach Odyssey, performing the composer’s complete keyboard works in a global recital series. Returning to the Auditorium Giovanni Agnelli on Tuesday, February 16, Hewitt presents a two-part program. The first half features selections from both books of The Well-Tempered Clavier, navigating various keys with a blend of structural logic and expressive freedom. The evening closes with the Partita No. 4 in D major, the most grand and orchestral of the six Partitas, balancing monumental movements with moments of deep intimacy.
