Pierre-Laurent Aimard replaces Maria João Pires on January 27, 2026

Aimard

Following the announced of pianist Maria João Pires’ retirement from her career as a performer, Lingotto Musica is pleased to host Maestro Pierre-Laurent Aimard alongside the Camerata Salzburg, led by its Concertmaster Giovanni Guzzo.

The program maintains its original focus on Mozart by adding Piano Concerto No. 17 in G major, K. 453. This piece will close the evening, replacing Schubert’s Symphony No. 5. The first half of the program remains unchanged.

All previously purchased tickets and subscriptions retain their validity.

Pierre-Laurent Aimard is widely considered one of the most authoritative figures in contemporary piano performance, an interpreter known for his brilliant technique and exceptional musical intelligence. Although his name is primarily associated with the 20th-century repertoire and contemporary music – in which his work in study, performance, and pedagogical transmission has become an international benchmark – his relationship with Mozart is built on two decades of engagement. This began in 2005 with the recording of Concerto K. 595 for Warner Classics, alongside the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Since then, he has consistently engaged with the Salzburg composer in the most prestigious international concert venues, offering interpretations which unite textual rigor with expressive depth.
