Lingotto Musica OFF at Museo Archivio Reale Mutua

From July 3rd to 17th, three concerts at 9 PM in the courtyard of Palazzo Biandrate Aldobrandino di San Giorgio

These three enchanting evenings under the stars in the magnificent setting of Palazzo Biandrate Aldobrandino di San Giorgio’s courtyard offer the magic of summer with romantic salon pieces, Baroque melodies, and fin-de-siècle gems. These concerts are part of the A Summer at the Museum series, promoted by the Museo Archivio Reale Mutua. Held on three consecutive Thursdays from July 3rd to July 17th (always at 9 PM), they bring to life Lingotto Musica OFF, a new initiative designed to bring classical music beyond Lingotto’s usual venues. The protagonists are talented young soloists and emerging ensembles under 35, including pianist Federico Gad Crema, the Instrumentum Vocale ensemble, and the violin-piano duo composed of Letizia Gullino and Luca Guido Troncarelli.

Sound Synesthesia with pianist Federico Gad Crema

The series opens on Thursday, July 3rd, with a piano recital by Federico Gad Crema, a promising virtuoso of international concert performance, born in 1999. Winner of various competitions, he has performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Philharmonie in Paris, and Teatro Castro Alves in Salvador de Bahia. A student of Kirill Gerstein in Berlin, he is also the founder and artistic director of the Oropa Music Festival. The program, focusing on the synesthesia between art, music, and literature, includes a selection from Chopin’s 24 Preludes Op. 28, which he wrote in 1838 during his stay in Mallorca with the writer George Sand, and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, an 1874 suite inspired by an exhibition of works by his friend, the painter Viktor Hartmann.

Instrumentum Vocale and the Chivalrous Pas d’Armes

On Thursday, July 10th, the stage will be taken by Instrumentum Vocale, an ensemble formed in 2021 with the aim of rediscovering and promoting early music. They will present a collection of madrigals, arias, and Baroque sonatas on the theme of the chivalrous pas d’armes. The ensemble is composed of Federica Leombruni (voice and harpsichord), Gabriele Cervia (violin), Eleonora Ghiringhelli (viola da gamba), and Marco Zanco (percussion), all graduates of the Turin Conservatory in both vocal and instrumental performance. Instrumentum Vocale has been featured in festivals such as BackTOBach, Torino Chamber Music Festival, Musica Antica a Magnano, and Chivasso in Musica.

In Search of Lost Time featuring the Violin-Piano Duo Letizia Gullino and Luca Guido Troncarelli

The series concludes on Thursday, July 17th, with the duo formed by 21-year-old violinist Letizia Gullino and 24-year-old pianist Luca Guido Troncarelli. Both graduates of the Turin Conservatory, these two musicians have won numerous first prizes in international competitions, and in 2022, they jointly received the National Arts Prize and the “Giovanni Guglielmo” award. Their program is dedicated to late-Romantic chamber repertoire, highlighting the delightful and graceful interplay between the two instruments. The audience will hear Brahms’ Sonata No. 1 in G major Op. 78, Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso in A minor Op. 28, and Fauré’s Sonata No. 1 in A major Op. 13.
