The season opening night of the Concerti del Lingotto series marks a great double italian debut: the rising conductor and excellent early music violist Riccardo Minasi lead the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen beside the international piano star Beatrice Rana. The program is dedicated to three German composers united by the innovative impact on the 19th-century musical panorama: the Overture from Weber’s Der Freischütz, an aesthetic statement of the rising Romantic musical theater; Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto, one of a kind in minor key pioneering to a symphonic conception of the genre wherewith Rana continues her journey through the keyboard repertoire; Brahms’s Fourth Symphony, his last orchestral work which oversteps Beethoven’s form electing Bach as his protective idol.
