She is only sixteen years old but is already a world-renowned concert pianist, with surprising maturity and a marked aversion to the definition of enfant prodige. Acclaimed for her crystal-clear virtuosity by the giant of the keyboard and her mentor Grigory Sokolov, she began studying the piano at the age of four and won the prestigious Grand Prix of the Grand Piano Competition in Moscow at eleven. Alexandra Dovgan returns to the Lingotto, after her successful debut in 2023, with a program of rare intensity that intertwines, in a chronological crescendo, the intimate Sonatas of Beethoven and Schumann with Rachmaninoff’s Variations on a Theme by Corelli and the percussive energy of Prokofiev’s Sonata op. 14.
